The average American produces 4.5 lbs of trash a day.Â
But how do you even begin to start reducing waste?Â
Doing so may seem overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be.Â
In this guilt and judgment-free workshop, you'll learn how to start your own low waste journey at home - no matter where you're starting from.Â
What we cover:
-The one activity that will help you identify exactly where you should start in your own household
-How to reduce waste on a budget (and in fact even potentially save money)
-How to get a reluctant partner/roommate on board
-Quick and easy tricks and tips that you can implement right away
Presenter: Laura Durenberger-Grunow started her low waste journey five years ago, and within the first year, she and her family reduced their waste by 35-40 lbs a week. She is passionate about helping others along their own low waste journey by meeting them where they're at. She does this through her website Reduce, Reuse, Renew, which acts as a guide for those wanting to live with less in a sustainable way, and through her podcast Raising Eco Minimalists, which acts as a resource for those who are raising kids who care about their mind, body, community, and planet.
The presentation is in partnership with Cook County Local Energy Project (CCLEP), Zero Waste Cook County, and Reduce, Reuse, Renew.Â
